Sunday morning and I'm waking upCan't even focus on a coffee cupDon't even know who's bed I'm inWhere do I startWhere do I begin - The Chemical Brothers, 1997, Where Do I Begin Today is the 17th of November 2023, and the holiday season seems to have officially begun with a cavalcade of events. Events of which I am only privy to thanks to the power of social media. Events that seem to speak over other more urgent events: hospitals breaking down, besieged, torn apart. Digits. Numbers, moving in symphony with the calendar. Upwards, onwards. Christmas soon.  To give you an...

Back to the topic, 2020 and beyond.

Didn't 2020 feel like it was just yesterday? The pandemic definitely changed most of our lives but it's weird because I feel like we're now looking forward so much to recovering our time that we forget that it actually passed.  The beginning of 2020 was completely different though. I remember telling myself not to hype the year up too much, just coz we were entering a new decade, and the numbers of the calendar looked good. The beginning of several things: funky collection names, a journey of evolving into full magpie, and creating everything I wanted and dreamt of.  Coconut Boy was its name. As always, it was a penchant of mine to be kinda different, so the collection name had almost nothing to do with jewelry.  Coconut Boy, 2014, SSEK Jewelry Red, Orange, Pink tones Blue, Green tones The bracelet series for Coconut Boy was an absolute joy to create. Back then, there were approximately 5 local stores I would scour for...

And there was light.

My current view. Okay well not exactly, but a few minutes before this lol. Documenting things take effort, really. I took this photo on my camera, uploaded it to my phone, Airdropped it into my laptop before uploading it into this blog.  And man, does the word "blog" take me back. If it takes you back, we're all around the same age. Who really bothers reading words anymore? Maybe if it's captions plastered over short form video, on a small device.  There is a point to bringing this blog back to life, of course with a not-so-hidden capitalist hook to...
